About Zade
Zade Russell Rachels was a vibrant 3-year-old who loved adventure and was adored by everyone he met. An identical twin to Zeke and a little brother to Brighton, Zade brought joy to those around him with his boundless energy and love. Tragically, on April 1, 2024, Zade drowned during a family trip to the pool. While his mother was packing up, Zade wandered through an unlocked door back to the pool. In just minutes, he fell in, and despite immediate CPR and paramedic intervention, Zade was life-flighted to the hospital. After days of prayer and testing, it was confirmed that Zade had suffered irreversible brain damage. On April 7, 2024, his family made the heart-wrenching decision to donate his organs, saving three other lives.
In honor of Zade's selfless gift, Zade Our Hero was created to prevent similar tragedies and keep his legacy alive. The organization provides scholarships for swim lessons, offers water safety education and CPR training, and donates pool alarms to families in need. Through these efforts, Zade’s story continues to inspire hope and save lives, ensuring his heroic spirit lives on by protecting others from the heartbreak his family endured.
